What is your job title?
I am a Legal Administrator at Stone King LLP.
Why did you decide to do an apprenticeship?
I knew I wanted to pursue a career in law and was excited to get into the workplace so when the opportunity arose I felt it fitted my skillset and interested me greatly. I had also spoken to former apprentices within the firm who had gone on to complete further apprenticeships and liked the possibility of future progression within the company
What sort of activities did you do in your role whilst you were on the apprenticeship?
My role involved a variety of different tasks including completing dictation, email and calendar management and processing monthly billing.
What have you enjoyed most about your apprenticeship?
I`ve enjoyed gaining real life experience and getting involved in the social aspect of my workplace. For example, I joined the firm`s netball team which has allowed me to spend time with colleagues in a less formal setting and build stronger relationships with them.
How was your training with Damar?
Damar have been so supportive throughout the course of my apprenticeship and I have really benefited from the online learning platform, as well as through tailored support from my coach.
What do you think your biggest achievement has been as an apprentice?
I am really proud of myself for achieving a distinction in my end-point assessment, especially as it meant having to adapt in order to overcome the various challenges faced in 2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic, for example, adapting to working from home which I had only had limited experience of before.
What do you think you have contributed to your organisation during your apprenticeship?
I would like to think I have contributed to the efficiency of my team and the wider organisation through my organisational skills and aiding fee earners in their day to day tasks.
What are your career plans now you’ve finished your apprenticeship?
I have just accepted a Legal Administrator role in our Employment Team but hope to complete both the Paralegal and Solicitor Apprenticeships in the future, with the ultimate aim of being to gain my practising certificate.
