Position: Freelance Operations Management Tutor (remote)
Specialisation: Level 5 Operations Manager Apprenticeship
About the Role:
We are seeking a motivational and inspirational tutor to guide our students in their level 5 operations manager apprenticeship workshops. Your role will be pivotal in helping students not only understand management theory but also apply it effectively in real-world scenarios.
Key Responsibilities:

Our goal at Damar is for all apprentices to achieve their full potential. In this role you will work with our coaches and partner-employers to ensure that reasonable adjustments are made to support apprentices who have a learning difficulty or disability that affects their ability to continue and complete their apprenticeship. It is a varied and rewarding role that will include assessing needs, agreeing adjustments and ensuring that appropriate and high-quality support is provided to apprentices with special educational needs or disabilities.
The contents of this job description are not exhaustive. You may also be asked to perform other related duties relevant to the level of your role to meet the ongoing needs of our business.
Full-time but part-time (min. 3 days a week) will also be considered.
Hybrid/remote, dependent on location
Key responsibilities
- Identify apprentices who may have additional learning needs
- Undertake SEND assessments
- Agree SEND plans and manage the resourcing (internal and external) to support delivery of the SEND plans
- Monitor delivery against SEND plans
- Liaise with our internal compliance team to ensure that additional needs funding is being drawn down in compliance with ESFA funding rules
- Deliver elements of SEND plans where appropriate
- Co-ordinating provision for students with declared LLDD e.g. equipment
- Manage and share data with key stakeholders to who how students with an additional need are performing
- Help apprentices to build confidence and skills for life
Skills and experience
- You will have experience of SEND, probably as a SEND co-ordinator in a secondary, further education or adult learning environment
- You will have experience of teaching/working with students with special educational needs
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Good time management skills
Knowledge and qualifications
- You will have achieved the National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination (NASENCO)
- You will ideally have an understanding of apprenticeships
- Excellent literacy and numeracy
