Our Commitment
Damar Training provides an accessible, impartial and high-quality Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) programme. We pride ourselves on the supportive culture we have created for our students, and want the very best outcomes, both educationally and professionally.
With offices in Manchester, Damar Training delivers apprenticeships nationally in a range of business and professional services. We work with organisations that share our values across different industry sectors and of all sizes; we have particular expertise in working with providers of legal and other professional services, the public sector (including the NHS) and the travel sector.
Our apprentices and employers can expect that we will provide a broad curriculum that delivers the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in lifelong learning and employment. We aim to develop students into successful professionals as well as valued members of society. This can be evidenced in each student’s apprenticeship training plan, where carefully mapped careers information and guidance is linked to individual modules. This is then supported and embedded by our expert team of coaches, which allows us to quality assure the process.
Our CEIAG offer begins at the start of the student journey. Our recruitment team works with students to determine the best pathway for individuals, encouraging them to aspire, make good choices and understand what they need to do in order to reach and succeed in their chosen career. If that is not through an apprenticeship with Damar Training, then we will refer to other training providers that may meet their individual needs. This includes signposting to the National Careers Service and local authorities’ impartial careers services.
As apprentices progress through their programmes, we support readiness for the next phase of their education, training or employment. This ensures that apprentices can make the transition to the next stage successfully and fulfil their career aims by progressing to their intended job roles or other sustained employment, promotion or, where appropriate, moving to a higher level of apprenticeship or qualification. This guidance is usually discussed in collaboration with apprentices and employers during end-point assessments.
Our objective is to deliver high quality CEIAG in a secure and consistent manner, providing the best possible opportunities for all our apprentices to develop their talents and achieve their goals.
Our organisation, students and employers can be confident that the CEAIG we provide is regularly quality assured through our self-assessment reviews and the action plans relevant to achieving the Matrix Standard for Information, Advice and Guidance. The Matrix Standard is the Department for Education’s (DfE) standard for ensuring the quality of the delivery of high-quality information, advice and guidance. We achieved this in 2014 and have held it since. We are also guided by the Gatsby Benchmark Principles.
Damar Training is committed to being an outstanding provider of apprenticeships. Throughout this journey, we will continuously strive for excellence in the CEIAG we offer to our students. This is done by regular reviews, student feedback and a commitment from all staff at Damar Training to promote progression routes in further education or employment throughout.
