Artificial intelligence is transforming workplaces across every sectors and AI tools are becoming an everyday part of how we work. That’s why Damar is taking action to ensure apprentices are ready.
Our new Introduction to AI in the Workplace course will be rolled out across all apprenticeship programmes from April 2026 onwards. The content has been carefully tailored to each specific apprenticeship, ensuring the content is relevant, practical and applicable.
What’s included?
The course comprises four engaging, interactive short modules:
Module 1: An introduction to artificial intelligence
What is AI? How does it work? This module demystifies the technology and sets the foundation for everything that follows.
Module 2: Common AI tools in the workplace
From chatbots to data analysis platforms, this module explores real-world applications and how they’re being used across different industries.
Module 3: Opportunities and risks of AI
AI presents exciting possibilities, but also challenges. This module encourages critical thinking about both the benefits and potential pitfalls of AI adoption in the workplace.
Module 4: The AI assistant dilemma
Our standout module puts apprentices in the driving seat. Through an immersive role simulation, apprentices step into the shoes of a team leader beginning to use an AI-powered tool to analyse team performance, navigating real-world decisions about how to use AI appropriately and ethically.
Building critical users
Our goal is to develop critical and ethical users of AI – people who understand the technology, can use it effectively, and know when and how to use it responsibly.
Completing the course is just the beginning. Apprentices who want to deepen their AI knowledge can progress to the AI Skills Boost courses offered by Skills England, creating a clear pathway for continued professional development.
