We’re looking for a Business Development Manager who can make a real, positive impact. This role is pivotal in driving our growth and expanding our apprenticeship offering to new and existing employers.

What you’ll do
- Strategic Sales: Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to identify and secure new opportunities
- Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
- Revenue Growth: Achieve and exceed sales targets and KPIs through effective pipeline management and conversion of leads
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless onboarding and employer/student satisfaction.
You’re perfect if you have
- A minimum of three years of experience in business development, preferably within the apprenticeship or education sector
- The ability to develop and implement strategic sales plans which lead to new business opportunities as well as existing client growth
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and maintain key stakeholder relationships.

Job description
As a member of Damar’s business development team, you will sell the benefits of apprenticeships to employers and help them plan and manage apprenticeship programmes that meet their organisational needs and develop the skills of their people. You will be happy working autonomously and to agreed targets.
- Location: Home-based with frequent travel to Manchester office (typically one day per week in the office, remote working would be considered for candidates based outside the north west.)
- Normal hours of work: Full time – as set out in your terms and conditions of employment
- Salary: £36,000 – £38,000 (depending on experience), plus a non-contractual bonus
- Reporting to: Divisional Manager – Business Development.

Key responsibilities
- Generate new business through existing client relationships
- Develop new client relationships and new business
- Proactively making calls and driving up new business pipelines
- Working closely with programme managers and training team managers to ensure that our delivery meets business objectives
- Demonstrate strong product knowledge to clients
- Manage the recruitment of apprentices by your employers
- Promote the benefits to employers of apprenticeships for existing staff
- Actively networking and attending customer engagement events
- Achieve and exceed monthly targets set
- Maintain accurate and up to date client records.
Knowledge and qualifications
- Strong product knowledge including apprenticeship standards and funding
- Business to business sales experience
- Track record of achieving results in a target-driven sales environment.
Skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, both in writing and face to face/by telephone
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with CRM systems
- The ability to plan work and exceed set targets.
