Charlotte Woodmore – Legal Admin Apprentice

“Completing the apprenticeship has improved my confidence in my abilities and developed my strengths, resilience and adaptability”

LEGAL ADMIN APPRENTICE | STONE KING LLP

Charlotte is a legal secretary at Stone King LLP who has recently completed a business administration apprenticeship.

What is your job title?

I am a legal secretary at Stone King LLP.

How has the apprenticeship impacted on you / improved your life?

Completing the level 3 business administration apprenticeship has improved my confidence in my abilities and developed my strengths, resilience and adaptability – especially throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

How will the apprenticeship training continue to impact on you in the future?

My apprenticeship will continue to impact me in the future as I will be able to apply the learning and attitudes from my apprenticeship both inside and outside of the workplace.

How has the apprenticeship impacted on your organisation?

Throughout my apprenticeship I have been able to develop my organisational skills in order to better support the fee earners that I work for, and I have also been able to aid efficiency with my apprenticeship project – which I will continue to use in my day-to-day role.

How has Damar’s approach to training contributed to the impact of the apprenticeship on you and your organisation?

The support I received from my apprenticeship coach, Sharon, was second to none. She really helped with going through all of the learning and supporting me when it came to completing the end-point assessment, to ensure I was as prepared as possible when completing my apprenticeship.

Why did you decide to do an apprenticeship?

Following completion of my A-Levels I took a gap year and was working in a different industry for a few years. I decided I wanted to return to my initial ambition of achieving legal qualifications and working towards becoming a qualified solicitor and I felt that obtaining those qualifications through an apprenticeship, working alongside learning, was a beneficial way for me to do this.

What activities do you do in your day-to-day role?

In my day-to-day role I assist fee earners with the creation of documents including court bundles and letters for clients and client contracts, opening clients and matters on our system, arranging meetings, and supporting the Cambridge office with general administration.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I enjoy working in a fast-paced environment to problem solve and provide help and support to the clients and the fee earners that I work with.

What are your future career plans?

I hope to further my studies and obtain additional legal qualifications through either a paralegal or solicitor apprenticeship in order to become a qualified solicitor in the future.
